Team Manager
Could you help us to shape the future?
About Choice Support
Choice Support has recently gone through a restructure and with it comes an opportunity to shape the future. We are now recruiting for a range of new roles across the organisation -this is more than just a job opportunity, it’s a chance to influence how we work, and make a real difference to the people we support.
About the Role
We are looking for a supportive and motivated Team Manager to join our team in Southwark. This role is all about making a real difference to people’s lives.
As a Team Manager, you will
- make sure people get the right support in a way that works for them. You will do this by keeping support plans up to date, making sure they reflect what people want and need, and help them build confidence, learn new skills, and live as independently as possible.
- support and guide your team to do their best work. This includes helping new staff settle in and making sure everyone has the training and support they need to feel confident in their role.
- work closely with the management team to keep things running smoothly to ensure the best support is provided, from planning rotas and recruiting new team members to making sure there are enough staff in place to meet people’s needs.
- lead by example, build positive relationships, communicate clearly, and make sure people are safe, treated with respect, supported to live a life they enjoy. You will also keep good records and carry out regular checks to make sure the quality of support stays high.
About You
You don’t need previous management experience, this could be your first step into a leadership role, and we will support you every step of the way.
We will support you to build your confidence in leading a team, helping with day to day support, monthly support and development meetings with your team, carrying out quality checks, and developing others.
Do you have:
- around two years experience in social care, ideally in supported living, residential, or community services. You will have an understanding of managing risk and recognising when someone needs extra support.
- have a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care and Leadership & Management, or be willing to work towards it with our support.
- an understanding of key legislation, such as the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding
- confidence using systems like Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and care management systems.
Are you:
- organised, able to keep accurate records, and understand the importance of good documentation and confidentiality.
- kind, positive, a great listener and communicator, and someone who genuinely cares about people while staying flexible in your approach.
- ready for a role where you can lead a team and make a real impact on people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
Location
You will be based at our service in Southwark, but you will also spend time working in the community and attending meetings or training when needed.
Hours
This is a full-time role (39 hours per week). You will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including helping with rotas and ensuring safe staffing. You will also take part in the on-call rota, with occasional evening or weekend work if needed.
We may close this post early if we receive sufficient applications before the closing date. If you are interested in applying, we would ask that you do so as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.
Interview date TBC
To keep the people we support safe, we follow safer recruitment steps. This includes DBS checks, reference checks and reviewing your work history.
