About us
What we do
We believe good support can only work when it is designed to give people what they really want. This means understanding people’s hopes and dreams, as well as their needs.
The first thing we do, if you ask us for support, is to get to know you. Once we know who you are we can then work with you to plan support that’s right for you.
Whether you are moving into a new home, need support managing finances, or finding friends or love, through the Supported Loving network, you will be fully involved every step of the way.
Our support staff can help you with claiming any benefits you may be entitled to, finding work or volunteering opportunities in the local community, planning activities, supporting you to any health appointments and even supporting you to vote. We are here to help.
And we believe that building good relationships with the people most important to you will help us to get to know you better. We will work with you, and those closest to you, to find out who you wish to be involved in planning your support.
However, we understand that what may work for one person, may not work for you. That’s because good support can look very different from person to person. Everyone’s needs and circumstances are unique. Our pledge to you is that we will listen.
We don’t make assumptions about people, and we won’t try to fit you into something that isn’t right for you. Instead, we try to create support that fits you. That might mean adapting something we already offer, or it might mean creating something completely new.
We will do our best to support you, but if we feel we cannot give you what you need we will try to introduce you to other organisations that might be able to help.
Often families who are considering where to turn for support need to talk to someone in their shoes before they make decisions. Meet Lynda, our voluntary Families Ambassador here.
