Female Registered Nurse

This service is a home for 6 people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex health needs.
As a Nurse on our Bank, there is no minimum number of hours you’ll be required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to keep your knowledge and familiarity with the service at a good level.
As a Nurse you will be responsible for:
· Providing clinical care over daily support needs, including nutrition and hydration, monitoring of vital signs, postural care, catheter care, administration of medication, including injections, suctioning and wound management.
· Maintaining shift leadership over people’s care and support and providing direction to the team on duty.
· Writing and monitoring support plans, risk assessments, clinical protocols, guidelines etc
· Assist in direct management and supervision of support staff, including conducting observational feedback sessions.
· Ensuring all support staff adhere to support documents in relation to all aspects of people’s care and support.
· Overseeing compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this role will meet the following criteria:
· Level 1 Registered General Nurse or Learning Disabilities Nurse
· At least two years’ experience of working with people in a community setting.
· Proficient skills and knowledge of supporting with PEG and PEJ, epilepsy, oral suctioning, monitoring of vital signs, postural care, tissue viability, catheter care, administration of medication, including injections
· A strong commitment to ensuring high quality support is being provided
· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people who communicate verbally and non-verbally, including understanding of PECs
· Ability to develop good working relationships internally & externally
· Knowledge & experience of problem solving and looking for creative solutions
· Compassionate, caring, observant and genuine within interactions
· Proactive within their responsibilities
As the ladies require elements of personal care, we assume they would continue to prefer their intimate personal care to be provided by other women. There is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for female staff members only.

Salary: £20 per hour
Enhancements: An additional£1.00 per hour Monday to Friday nights (10.00pm to 6.00am) and on Saturdays and Sundays
