About the Role
We are looking for a supportive and motivated Deputy Registered Manager to join our team in Greenwich. This role is all about making a real difference to people’s lives.
As a Deputy Registered Manager, you will
- work closely with the Registered Manager to help make sure people get the right support in a way that works for them ensuring it meets the rules set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the organisations that fund people’s support, and Choice Support’s policies and procedures.
- deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence to help lead several support services for people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.
- make sure support is up to date and helps them live the life they choose. You will encourage independence, support people to stay connected with their family, and help them work towards their goals. You will also ensure support with health, medication and finances is safe, while building strong, trusting relationships with families and professionals.
- help build a supportive team culture where everyone feels valued. Working with the Registered Manager, you will lead Team Managers and Support Workers to perform at their best, by supporting their development through training, and feedback. You will also support with recruitment, inductions and staffing to ensure services are safe.
- keep teams informed and motivated, acting as a key point of contact for colleagues, families and professionals, and also taking on on-call duties when needed.
- ensure records are accurate, person-centred, and that any concerns are acted on quickly, and that people are always safe.
About You
Do you have:
- at least two years experience managing more than one social care service or leading managers in a care setting.
- a level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care or a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or working towards it).
- good knowledge of CQC rules and standards as well as good understanding of key legislation, such as the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding.
- great communication skills as well strong leadership skills and experience in supporting others to lead well.
- experience of managing budgets, staffing and team or service performance
Are you:
- able to use systems like Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and care management systems (Nourish, Zellis MyView and Sona).
- organised, keep accurate records, and understand the importance of good documentation and confidentiality.
- someone who is kind, positive, and genuinely cares about people. You need to be a good listener, good communicator, and someone who can stay flexible.
- ready to take the next step in your career, lead a team and help shape a new role, while making a real difference to people’s lives.
Location
You will work across the services within your responsibility within Greenwich, you will also spend time working in the registered office/location, the community and attending meetings or training when needed.
Hours
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). You will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including helping with rotas and ensuring safe staffing. You will also take part in the on-call rota.
