Bank Support Worker
About the Role
We are looking for bank staff to support adults with learning disabilities in their homes and in the community. In this role, you will help people with their daily needs so they can live safely and as independently as possible. Your work will include helping with personal care and toileting, giving medication, and supporting people to go out into the community. You will help keep their flats clean and organised, cook meals, and support those who need help to eat. You will also take people to health appointments and spend time doing activities with them in their homes, using your own ideas to make these enjoyable and meaningful. You will support people with mobility needs, which may include using hoists or walking aids. You will follow care plans and risk assessments, write clear daily notes, and record any observations or concerns. You will also provide companionship and support people to stay in touch with their families.
This role is subject to pre-employment checks, which include an Enhanced DBS check and registration with the Update Service. The cost of the Update Service registration will be reimbursed.
Location
Carshalton, Surrey.
Hours
We offer bank shifts, the usual shift times are 07:00–14:00 for early shifts and 14:00–20:00 for late shifts.
About You
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, and reliable. You should feel comfortable helping with personal care and everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning. Good communication is important, as you will be working with the people we support, their families, and the team. You need to be able to write simple and accurate notes and follow care plans and guidance. You should be able to use your initiative, especially when supporting people with activities. You must be able to work well with others but also feel confident working on your own. Experience in care is helpful, but it is not essential as training will be provided.
