Choice Support is a national leading social care charity, providing support to adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs. We are looking for a dynamic manager to oversee the set up and running of a new mental health supported living service in Nottingham.
We are looking for a dynamic manager to oversee the set up and running of a new mental health supported living service in Nottingham. Palm Street is due to open in the Autumn and will provide 11 flats for people with mental health conditions who may also have other support needs such as a mild learning disability, autism, history of substance misuse, some may have been through the criminal justice system.
You will be supported by a Team Leader and Support Workers who will be expected to a range of shift patterns. You will be involved in the initial set up of the service, recruiting and training of new staff and assessing new referrals, and then the day to day running. Many of the people placed will have long term needs, so the staff team will get to know them very well.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in the social care field at a supervisory level who has excellent verbal & written communication skills and excellent IT skills. You will have a proven ability to support and supervise others and develop their coaching skills. You will also have an understanding of effective budget management. Possession of a current driving licence is desirable.
You will already hold a QCF Level 5 diploma in leadership in Health and Social Care or have a willingness to work towards the qualification, and good level of literacy and numeracy skills. A thorough understanding of safeguarding issues and procedures, including Deprivation of Liberty and Mental Capacity principles and an understanding of Mental Health Legislation is also essential.
