Experts by Experience on CQC website

Choice Support's innovative work leading the Experts by Experience project for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is discussed in two articles on CQC's website. 

In the first Laura Broughton, who receives a service from Choice Support and works as an Expert by Experience says: “It was an eye opener for me to see other services and different structures. I hadn’t been employed before so this was a good opening for me and confidence building."

In the second, Laura Minett, who also receives a service from Choice Support says: "I think someone who has a learning disability is more likely to talk to a person who has a learning disability, like me, than to someone they see in a more professional role."

Experts by Experience are people who use services who are employed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to help monitor services. Choice Support is the lead support organisation contracted by CQC to recruit, train and manage Experts by Experience.
