Quality assuranceAt Choice Support we are always looking for ways to check and improve our services. Here are some of the ways we do this: Quality auditsWe can help services identify what they need to do to ensure that they are meeting the Care Standards. We may ask to visit a service as part of a planned audit schedule, but also some services ask us to visit if they want extra support and advice. When we audit we talk to people living and working at the service, as well as review the paperwork. After our visit we produce an action plan identifying how improvements can be made. We also acknowledge what is already being done well. Health and safety auditsWe visit services once a year to review health and safety, and to ensure that the welfare needs of people living and working in services are being met. We can also offer support and advice on risk management. InformationWe collect lots of information from different sources, such as accident and incident forms, and use this to provide a monthly quality report for managers. This helps us identify trends in services, so we know where help is needed Investigating complaintsService users, families and advocates can talk to us if they are not happy about anything Choice Support does. If someone outside the organisation, such as a neighbour, is not happy they can talk to us too. Investigating staff grievancesIf staff are not happy, Human Resources may ask us to talk to people to find out what has happened and what needs to be done about it.
We also want to know when things are going well, so we can share good practice across the organisation. We encourage service users, their families and carers, and staff to talk to us if they are happy with things, or have ideas that may benefit others.
