PRESS RELEASE 13TH MAY 2008
SIGNATURE CARE AND SUPPORT and CHOICE SUPPORT join forces
In April 2008 Hampshire based charity Signature Care and Support (SC&S) joined the group structure of the national learning disability charity, Choice Support. “Both organizations checked thoroughly that working together was going to be in the best interests of all of the service users they support” said Theresa Pratt, Director, SC&S. “Together we have the critical mass to respond positively to the governments self directed support agenda, across central Southern England” said Choice Support’s Group Chief Executive, Steven Rose.
Employing 106 staff SC&S provides care and support to 150 people in the county of Hampshire and cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. Nationally, the Choice Support group employs over 1400 staff supporting over 750 people.
Barry Coker, who led the negotiations at Board level on behalf of the Choice Support Group said “Choice Support’s Board see this as an extremely positive development, at a very early stage it became clear that there would be a symbiotic relationship between the two organizations. Joining forces will help both Choice Support and SC&S provide better quality and better value for money”.
